The Alamo Bank Building has been beautifully restored and comes to new life as the Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio River Walk! Covering an entire city block facing St. Mary's Street in downtown San Antonio, the 24-story Alamo Bank Building opened its doors in 1929 and housed a series of banks throughout the years. Now home to the Drury Plaza Hotel, the building retains its original elegance and style. The interior includes filled travertine flooring and a "Tiffany" inspired lobby featuring 50-foot ceilings. Within the lobby are the original, refurbished chandeliers dating back to 1929 and beautiful stained glass windows can be found throughout. On the rooftop stands what the building is most famous for, its rooftop weather spire. Originally using colors to let the city of San Antonio know if the temperature was rising or falling, this spire has been relit and can be seen throughout the city!
